MIAS EV Test Track Showcases Newest EVs
he proof is in the numbers! It is estimated that Americans purchased approximately 1.5 million new battery-powered vehicles—both battery-electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) in 2024 (7 percent more than the year prior).
With more than 254,000 registered EVs in Florida, the state ranks second behind only California. The significant number of EVs on Florida’s roads is due in part to the state’s strong charging infrastructure. Florida reported over 12,000 available ports at public stations.
Now in its fourth year, the “MIAS EV Test Track” is a testament to the growing popularity of EVs among consumers. This year, show attendees will be treated to rides in EVs from such manufacturers as Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC Hummer and Lucid.
Among the popular vehicles on the “MIAS EV Test Track” are Chevrolet’s Equinox and Silverado Truck, Cadillac’s VISTIQ and Escalade IQ, GMC’s Hummer and Sierra Truck and Lucid’s Air Sedan and Gravity SUV.
“Our attendees can experience a ride in many of the auto industry’s new electric vehicles right from the show floor,” said Debra Koebel, show manager. “We hope they come away with a better understanding of the benefits of owning an electric vehicle.”
